June 27- ButtonWillow Raceway, ButtonWillow, CA.

A hot and hectic weekend greeted the Teen Mazda Challenger Series competitors for round 3 and 4 of the Teen Mazda Challlenge Series. Southern California competitors are not shy about trading paint and several of the Teen Mazda Challenge competitors although not wishing to volunteer as active participants non the less became involved. Only Ryan Ellis seemed to escape the spinning cars and mini dust tornados that left multiple Spec Maita cars damaged. One non-teen competitor left the track with a trailer of Spec Miata junk. Qaulifying ended with Ryan Ellis taking the TMC pole with a 2:10.4, Sean Allen a 2:11.7 and A.J. Patrick rounding out the top 3 with a 2:11.9 A quick learning Ryan Ellis qualified very well placing his rental car 1st in TMC and 2nd on the grid. Sean Allen qualified 2nd in TMC and 4th overall with A.J. Patrick only 2/10ths off of Sean and qualifying 3rd in TMC and 5th overall. Tyler Vance and Nick Buchanan rounded out the TMC field. At the Green flag Sean Allen jumped from his 4th overall qualifying position to 3rd and 1st in TMC with A.J. Patrick hot on his bumper having moved from 6th overall to 4th and 2nd in TMC. Ryan Ellis became tangled up at the start of the race and dropped from 4th overall on the grid to 16th!! But, Ryan understands racing and became methodical picking his way through the field. Nick Buchanan and Tyler Vance moved up 2 spots each on that hectic first lap and set off after the leaders. A major incident on lap 6 involved multiple cars making heavy contact. Tyler Vance became a victim of the multi-car crash and recorded and instant DNF. On the same lap Sean Allen became the target of a hit and run and was forced off the road and dropped from the stellar 2nd overall and 1st in TMC to finish 17th overall and 4th in TMC. Sean misfortune was a bonus for many as Ryan drove a remarkable race and finished an amazing 4th overall and 1st in TMC after starting lap 2 in 16th place. A.J. P. nailed down 2nd in TMC with a solid 4th overal finish with Nick B. moving to 3rd in TMC and 8th overall followed by Sean A. 4th in TMC and 17th overall. Tyler V. ended his day a dismal 19th overall after the pileup on lap 6. The hot dusty track slowed the lap time condsiderably from qualifying with the best laps turned by: A.J. Patrick2:12.2, Sean Allen a 2:12.3, Ryan Ellis a 2:12.5 very close indeed. Still hot and dusty. Temperatures well over 100f. Only 3 teens set out to qualifying with Ryan E. capturing the top spot and 2nd overall with AJ P. just a tick behind and 2nd in TMC/ 3rd overall. Tyler V. crew patched up their bent and bashed miata in time to make the grid qualifying a credible 9th. Sean A. and Nick B. opted out of the race and headed home. Ryan E. taking top spot, AJ P. 2nd and Tyler V. some how managed to finish 3rd.
