To be awarded points a minimum of 3 Teen Drivers must start the race. 1a. If less than 3 Teen Drivers do not start the race no points are to be awarded. aa. A minimum of 5 teens must have acquired points in his/her region before an invite to the Mazda Driver Shootout will be issued to the Champion of that division> 1b. We reserve the right to modify Points Rule #1 should the race encounter special circumstances that would prevent some competitors from participating. Such as adverse weather conditions or technical difficulties prior to the race event. 2. Teen points are awarded to the teen mazda challenge drivers in order of their finish within the TMC class. 2a. Teens will also be awarded NASA Spec Miata Championship points based on their OVERALL finishing position against all other Spec Miata class participants. 3. The TMC driver's best 8 races that have a minimum of 5 TMC drivers starting the race will be counted toward the season points total. 4. In the event of a tie for any position, the next best finishing postion, i.e. 2nd or 3rd on down will become the tie breaker. 5. A driver is allowed to run out of his or her home region for points. 5a. EXAMPLE: Should an East Coast driver wish to compete for points in a Texas or West Coast race he or she is allowed to do so.
